Hi! I'm Jesse, second of my name (hence the "Prince"). Like a lot of fiber artists these days, I started crocheting during the pandemic in 2020. This wasn't necessarily a coping mechanism for being locked inside, though. I've always been a homebody and a quiet introvert of simple pleasures; give me a video game to play or some good shows to watch and I could stay home for weeks at a time.

That's why crochet - and eventually, knitting - fit me like a glove, I guess. The relaxing nature of constructing stitch after stitch from the comfort of my living room was an instant win, but what really made it stick was realizing I could now make useful items for others with my own hands. It was a hobby I didn't know could be so fulfilling.

There is no other feeling that compares to seeing something into which you've put countless hours of your soul being enjoyed by someone in a completely different corner of the world. That connection to humanity is a wild rush that reminds me, every single time, that we all have something in common.

Fiber art has been life-changing for me; a tool for coping with anxiety and funneling my creativity into finished items that are cozy and beautiful. If I can bring some of this fulfillment to others and make them feel acknowledged, cared for or comforted in some way, then that is a purpose I am thrilled to serve and one that makes my time in this life well-spent.
